ออกเดทอย่างมั่นใจ (ตอนที่ 1)
 
Paul : Hey, Alex! Is Praew coming with us this weekend?
          สวัสดีอเล็กซ์ สุดสัปดาห์นี้แพรวจะมากับพวกเราด้วยหรือเปล่า
Alex : Yes, why?
          มาสิ ทำไมเหรอ
Paul : Nothing. I’m just asking.
          ไม่มีอะไร ฉันก็แค่ถามเฉยๆ
Alex : Just asking? Ah-huh, someone has a crush on Praew, doesn’t he?
          แค่ถามเฉยๆเหรอ อ๋อ สงสัยจะมีใครแถวนี้แอบชอบแพรวใช่ไหม
Paul : No, I’m not!
          ฉันเปล่านะ
Alex : Don’t be such a chicken. If you like her, you’ve got to tell her.
          อย่าทำตัวขี้ขลาดไปหน่อยเลย ถ้านายชอบเธอ นายก็ต้องบอกเธอนะ
Paul : But I don’t have to guts to ask her out. I would totally die if she turned me down.
          แต่ฉันไม่กล้าชวนเธอไปเที่ยว ฉันต้องตายแน่ๆ เลยถ้าเธอปฏิเสธฉันขึ้นมา
Alex : Come on. It’s obvious that she’shead over heels in love with you.
          ไม่เอาน่า เห็นอยู่ชัดๆ ว่าเธอก็ตกหลุมรักนายแบบหัวปักหัวปำเลย
Paul : But what do I say? How do I start?
          แต่ฉันจะต้องพูดอะไรล่ะ แล้วจะเริ่มยังไงล่ะ
Alex : Just follow my advice and she’ll only have eyes for you!
          แค่ทำตามที่ฉันบอก แล้วเธอจะไม่มองใครนอกจากนายคนเดียวเลยล่ะ
 
to have a crush (on someone) = แอบชอบ ส่วนใหญ่จะใช้กับความรักแบบเด็กๆ วัยรุ่น
to be head over heels in love = ตกหลุมรักแบบหัวปักหัวปำ
to fall in love at first sight = ตกหลุมรักตั้งแต่แรกพบ
to only have eyes for someone = มีใจให้ใครเพียงคนเดียวเท่านั้น
to turn someone down = ปฏิเสธรัก
 
นอกจากนี้ยังมีสำนวนที่ใช้บอกว่าใครชอบใคร คือ
to fancy someone
Ex.      Paul fancies Praew.
          พอลชอบแพรว
 
to have the hots for someone
Ex.      Alex has the hots for the new receptionist.
          อเล็กซ์ชอบพนักงานต้อนรับคนใหม่
 
to catch someone’s eye (ประโยคนี้ ประธานจะต้องเป็นคนที่ถูกแอบชอบ)
Ex.      The guy at the back of the class caught my eye.
          ผู้ชายคนที่นั่งหลังห้องถูกใจฉัน
